Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. Mine is on HYPERSPEEEEEEEEEED.

Once you get into college it just seems to start flying by. You can't even believe how fast the months just fly out the window.

I realized today while going through my website that my Disaffected picture looks like militant Pro-Nazi propaganda because the shape on her armband (which was never very well made to begin with) looks like a swastika when it's resized so small, and the slash through it was just a lazy line and this run on sentence is altogether just embarrassing.

Anyway.

Most of us are in school here on DA, tell me how your term was. Anything stupid, anything interesting?

I'm beginning to think that art school isn't for me, but it's not like I have any other abilities to go elsewhere career-wise.

the first term always seems to fly by for me.
My business professor graded assignments based on length, which was stupid. The fact that I had 6 and a half hours between classes on tuesday and thursday was also stupid. If there's a class at night, there should at least be another section of it that's during the day. But no.
I'm excited for next term 'cuz i picked classes that I want, and my schedule won't suck.

at the same time, in the space of this term I've lost like 8 pets D8 (1 dog, 1 button quail, the rest baby doves) we just barely got a kitten yesterday, he's currently killing some tissue paper. It's pick so I wasn't planning on ever using it anyway XD

Mine sucks :]. I work at a wholesale club 5 days a week to pay my student loan payment, and establish credit so I can get back into college.

It could suck worse though, so I guess I'm lucky I have free living arrangement from my mother 8O.

i'm in 13th grade. it's my last grade before university. this semester was my worst semester my whole life. i've never done so much schoolwork and had a side job at the same time. it's made me hate school with great passion.
